Sheet Metal Enclosure Fabrication Services
ChunTian fabricates sheet metal enclosures and cabinets to your drawings, covering cutouts, forming, welding and finishing. Enclosures are built around the components they must house, so the drawing review focuses on access, mounting and cable routing before production.
Capability matrix
What enclosure fabrication covers
An enclosure is usually several processes combined. The four families below describe what each contributes to the finished cabinet.
Cutouts and openings
Laser cutting and punching for doors, windows, cable entries and component openings.
Forming
Press brake bending for the body, flanges and mounting surfaces, with repeatable angles.
Seams and joints
Welding and mechanical joining to close the enclosure and hold its geometry.
Coating
Surface preparation and coating to protect the enclosure and match the specified finish.
Selection guide
Match the enclosure type to its contents
What goes inside the enclosure determines how it should be built. Switch between the options to see what each type changes.
Closed body with limited openings
A closed body with only the openings the drawing requires. Sealing performance depends on the gasket and hardware specified, so state the required protection level on the drawing.
Door and panel fit is checked against the drawing before coating.
State the required protection level and the gasket you intend to use.
Typical applications
Where sheet metal enclosures are used
The examples below describe typical application types, not specific customer projects.
Control cabinets
Cabinets that house electrical controls, with cutouts for switches, displays and cable entries.
Equipment housings
Housings that enclose machinery or electronic equipment and provide mounting surfaces inside.
Access panels and doors
Removable panels and doors that give service access to the equipment inside.

Production floor
Equipment behind the enclosures
Enclosures are cut, formed, welded and finished on the same production floor, which keeps the process route and inspection record under one roof.

How an order runs
From drawing to shipment
Drawing review
We read the drawing and identify access, mounting and routing requirements.
Manufacturability feedback
Where a bend, seam or cutout is difficult to produce, we flag it and suggest an alternative.
Sample approval
A sample or first article is produced and inspected before the batch is released.
Inspection record
Inspection results and QC photo packs are prepared for the buyer.
Shipment
Enclosures are packed against a shipment checklist before dispatch.
Buyer questions
Questions buyers ask before ordering
Can you build an enclosure to a specific protection rating?
Protection performance depends on the gasket, hardware and sealing method specified, not on the sheet metal alone. State the required rating on the drawing and we will confirm what the design can support.
Do you fit hinges, locks and hardware?
Hardware is fitted where the drawing specifies it. Tell us the hardware type or part number at enquiry stage so it can be included in the quotation.
Which materials do you use for enclosures?
Common sheet metals including carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium. State the grade on your drawing; if you have not fixed a grade, describe the environment and we will discuss options.
Do you supply and fit gaskets?
Gaskets are fitted where the drawing specifies them. The gasket material and profile affect sealing performance, so confirm the intended gasket with your enquiry.
What documentation comes with the enclosures?
Inspection records and QC photo packs are prepared as part of the pre-production workflow. Tell us at enquiry stage which documents your project requires so they can be included.
