Custom Sheet Metal Parts
Custom Sheet Metal Parts Manufactured to Your Drawings
ChunTian produces custom sheet metal parts from your drawings and 3D models, covering laser cutting, CNC punching, bending, welding and finishing under one roof. Every project starts with a drawing review and tolerance risk assessment so buyers know what is manufacturable before metal is cut.
At a glance
Custom sheet metal parts are fabricated to a buyer's own drawing rather than selected from a catalogue. The practical questions are which processes the geometry needs, what tolerance the drawing actually requires, and what documentation accompanies the shipment.

Buyer pain points
What Slips Through on Sheet Metal Part Orders
Sheet metal parts cross many processes β and every handoff is a chance to build the wrong revision or stack tolerances past the assembly.
Wrong revision produced
Impact on your project: Parts made to an old drawing cannot be used and cannot be returned quickly.
Revision control gaps mean obsolete drawings still reach the shop floor.
Stack-up across processes
Impact on your project: Features pass individually but the assembled part misses overall geometry.
Cut, bent, and welded features each in tolerance can still drift apart across the process chain.
Finish spec ambiguity
Impact on your project: Finishing decisions made mid-project cause mismatch and delay.
When finishing is not specified with the drawing, coating and color decisions stall production.
How We Solve It
Chuntian runs sheet metal parts through one facility with revision and handling control built in.
Revision control from RFQ to packout
Revision status and buyer deviation notes stay visible from quotation to shipment.
One team owns the dimensional chain
Cutting, bending, welding, and machining under one roof keep the whole part's geometry accountable.
QC photo packs and shipment checklists
Finished parts are documented with photo evidence and checklists before they leave.
What this means for you
Current-revision parts whose geometry fits your assembly and whose finish is documented.

Capability matrix
What we can do to a sheet metal part
The four process families below cover most custom sheet metal parts. Which ones apply depends on the drawing, the material and the quantity required.
Cutting
Laser cutting and CNC punching for outlines, holes and cutouts, including the TRUMPF TruMatic 6000 combined laser and punching machine.
Forming
Press brake bending for brackets, frames and enclosures, with repeatable angles across a production run.
Joining
Robotic and manual welding, including laser welding for clean joints on visible or thin-gauge parts.
Finishing
Deburring, coating and surface treatment to protect the part and meet the appearance the buyer specifies.
Selection guide
Match the production approach to your order
The same part can be made in different ways depending on whether you need one unit, a repeat batch, or a mix of both. Switch between the options to see what each approach changes.
Single part or first sample
A single unit is usually cut and formed without dedicated tooling. The drawing is reviewed first so that any feature that cannot be produced as drawn is flagged before cutting starts.
General fabrication tolerances apply; confirm any critical dimension on the drawing before quoting.
Send the drawing and state which dimensions are critical.
Typical applications
Where custom sheet metal parts are used
The examples below describe typical application types, not specific customer projects.
Machine guards and covers
Formed guards and covers that protect moving parts on industrial machinery, usually combining cutting, bending and welding.
Control boxes and panels
Enclosures and panels with precise cutouts for switches, displays and cable entries.
Mounting plates and brackets
Flat and formed plates that locate and fix components inside a larger assembly.

Production floor
Equipment behind the parts
Parts are produced on a full-range fabrication floor rather than outsourced between steps, which keeps the process route and inspection record under one roof.

How an order runs
From drawing to shipment
Drawing review
We read the drawing and 3D model and identify features that need clarification.
Manufacturability feedback
Where a feature is difficult or costly to produce, we flag it and suggest an alternative.
Sample approval
A sample or first article is produced and inspected before the batch is released.
Inspection record
Inspection results and QC photo packs are prepared for the buyer.
Shipment
Parts are packed against a shipment checklist before dispatch.
Buyer questions
Questions buyers ask before ordering
What drawing formats can you work from?
Send the drawing or 3D model in the format you already use, together with the material, quantity and any critical dimensions. If a feature is unclear, we will ask before quoting rather than assume.
Which tolerances can you hold?
Achievable tolerance depends on the process, material and part size. Tell us which dimensions are critical and we will confirm what the process route can hold for your part.
Which materials do you fabricate?
Common sheet metals including carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium. State the grade on your drawing; if you have not fixed a grade, tell us the service conditions and we will discuss options.
Can you repeat the same part later?
Yes. Repeat orders follow the approved process route and inspection plan, so the part stays consistent between batches. Reference the part number or first-article record in your enquiry.
What documentation ships with sheet metal parts?
Sheet metal shipments include inspection results, QC photo packs, and a shipment checklist prepared before dispatch.
